Maine Media Seasons Photo, Video, Writing Contest

International Deadline: April 15, 2014 - Maine Media Workshops & College is proud to announce 'Seasons", our newest photography, video, and writing contest. Open to all artists of any age worldwide. A total of $13,000 in prizes will be awarded.

Time is marked through change and evolution. A period of time can be characterized by activities or circumstances, evoke a feeling or mood, or transform the landscape in distinctive ways. Every season has its unique beauty and power. Every season has a story -- share yours with us. This contest is an opportunity for photographers, filmmakers, and writers to share their interpretations and stories of the seasons.

ELIGIBILITY
Anyone, any age, except not eligible to enter are staff, current full-time/part-time year-round employees and Board of Directors of MMW&C.

AWARDS
A total of over $13,000 in prizes will be awarded to Grand Prize and Honorable Mention winners in categories including photo, video and writing.

In addition, Maine Media Workshops + College is excited to collaborate with Maine’s Bay Chamber Concerts on the theme of Seasons. Curator’s Choice Awards will be selected from Maine Media’s Seasons Contest entries, for display during, or in conjunction with, Bay Chamber Concerts’ performance of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons on Thursday, July 24th, 2014 at the Rockport, Maine Opera House.

JUDGING
All entries will be anonymously reviewed throughout the Contest. Images will be judged on originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact, artistic merit and relevance to the theme of Seasons.

We are pleased to announce this distinguished panel of judges who will review all work and select the Grand Prize and Honorable Mention winners.

• Dawna Hilton: Director of Photography, Down East Magazine
• Jim Nickelson: Fine Art Photographer, Custom Digital Printer and Educator
• Eddie Soloway: Internationally Known Nature Photographer and Educator
• Bay Chamber Concerts staff will select the Curator’s Choice Award winners.
