NVAL 2014 International Juried Photography Show

International Deadline: March 10, 2014 - This show is open to all photographers worldwide. All forms of photographic expression are encouraged: from film-based to digital capture -- black and white darkroom to digital manipulation and alternative processing -- montages to hand-colored photographs.

All entries must be the entrant’s original work, i.e. the capture of the image as well as dark room and digital processing. This does not preclude the use of professional labs for printing, resizing, and film development. Images previously accepted into a NVAL International Juried Photography Show are not eligible.

EXHIBITION
Our purpose is to professionally exhibit your unique artwork in our gallery for patrons to view, appreciate and purchase.

Approximately 80 images will be exhibited at our spacious Carter House Gallery and also on the NVAL website. The gallery is located in Caldwell Park, 48 Quartz Hill Road, Redding, CA 96003, and fronts on the banks of the Sacramento River as it runs through the heart of Redding. It is adjacent to major recreational sites, consequently attracting local and tourist foot traffic.

The exhibition will take place April 29 thru May 31, 2014.

Only work submitted for the Carter House Gallery Exhibit is eligible for awards

JUROR – Crista Dix
We are very proud to have as our juror, Crista Dix, the Founder and Director of WALLSPACE GALLERY originally opened in Seattle, Washington and now transplanted to Santa Barbara, California. Starting in this creative field as a photographer, collector and lover of the visual image, Crista decided to put down her camera and utilize her years of business management to help promote photographers and photography. With a background in science, business and creative arts, she has created a gallery space that celebrates artists' vision. Ms. Dix has been a member of numerous panels and discussions on photography and photographic process and juried many creative competitions. She has participated in major portfolio reviews across the country in Houston, Portland, Los Angeles, Santa Fe, Chicago and New Orleans.

ACCEPTANCE NOTICE
Everyone who enters will receive an email notification regarding acceptance or non-acceptance by March 25. Detailed instructions for delivery, shipping, and artwork identification will be detailed in the acceptance notice.

SALE OF ARTWORK
There will be a 20 percent commission charged by the gallery on any piece that is sold. California sales tax will be collected.

The North Valley Art League is a non-profit, all volunteer organization. Your entry fees cover the prize money and other expenses of running the photography show. Any remaining monies help fund the operating expenses of the NVAL Carter House Gallery so that we can continue our goal of furthering the visual arts in the Northern California region.
