ONE 5: The Fifth Annual Manifest Prize

International Deadline: November 5, 2014 - Highly regarded Manifest Creative Research Gallery announces its Fifth Annual Manifest Prize, with a $1500 Cash Award and Solo Feature Exhibit of prize-winning work.

Open to works of any media, any genre/style, any size... The winner takes all!

In addition to the cash prize and solo feature gallery exhibit, the prizewinner will have multiple pages devoted to their winning work in the season-documenting Manifest Exhibition Annual (MEA) hardcover publication, including artist's statement, bio, and jury statements.

Five semi-finalists will have their selected works included in the MEA as well.

There are no restrictions on submissions to The Manifest Prize.

THE CONCEPT
All of Manifest's calls for entry are competitive. The stiffness of the competition has increased in proportion to Manifest's growing reputation, powerful mission, and international reach. Our mission to stand for quality, to create a system whereby works are judged with objectivity as a primary aim, and assembled with as little subjective curatorial agenda as possible has gained the respect of thousands of artists from all over the world, and a vast following of arts lovers, patrons, and supporters.

We respect the creative principle of reduction (the jury process) as it is employed to achieve an essential conclusive statement for each exhibit. This is what has led to the high caliber of each Manifest exhibit, and to the gallery's notable reputation.

With this principle of reduction in mind, we have been inspired by the intensity of jury after jury to narrow down a collection of entries to a suitable exhibit. Therefore we have determined to push the process to the ultimate limit - from among many to select ONE work to be exhibited in one of our five galleries* from December 12 through January 9, 2015. This work will be the recipient of the fifth annual MANIFEST PRIZE, a cash award of $1500 to a single work selected by our rigorous jury process, and presented in a gallery all to itself as the highlight of the cometitive process, an honor to the artist, and a poignant statement for gallery visitors.

ELIGIBILITY
ONE is open to everyone (students and professionals are encouraged to submit). The only limitation is that entries must represent original works of art or design and be available and capable of being exhibited in one of Manifest's five galleries.

MEDIA
Open to any and all traditional and non-traditional visual arts genre and media, (including video, photography, sculpture, installation, painting, drawing, etc.). There is no size limit or minimum size required, other than what is capable of being displayed in our gallery space.

JURY & CURATOR
Manifest's selection process involves a complex two-part system. This exhibit will be juried by an anonymous several-member panel of professional and academic advisors.

PUBLICATION
Manifest Press will produce a high quality hard-cover publication documenting this exhibition, artists, and works shown, along the other new season exhibitions.
