Curator’s Comments:

This photographic portrait simply enumerated ‘23’ captures a sense of duplicity in fleeting movement.  The two headed figure, in what I believe to be a cyanotype, conjures an archetypal persona with internal contradiction or disparate psychological guises. The split is echoed in the background environment with two overhead beams.  I can’t quite make out the image on the back wall, but it serves to confine the figure in an occupied space in which to react. I’m also drawn to the other cyan works, number 13 & 14, that each feature a delicate dragonfly perched in empty space.  These ghostly reflections, in reversed shadow-values, interestingly present an inherent display of duality. “Twoness” doesn’t appear to enter into the other colorful abstractions in your folio.  So, I wonder if there’s something in the nature of the process that evokes this formal mode of reflection.  In any case, I do hope you consider posting new work to the site if you’re able. These are haunting and beautiful works.
