"Arabesque of the white bird" - My latest paintings are painted metaphors about dreams, desolation and hope.

If we forget the illusion and dreams we lose hope.

Without hope the control is easy but… if you have the control you have the power.
My works want to project dreams full of hope to be truly free in a new world.

Curator’s Comments:

It’s a pleasure to see these new fluid mixed media works on paper.  They appear more intuitively associated and free flowing than many of your earlier paintings.  Arabesque of the White Bird is particularly dramatic, creating a moving, liquid pool of rich sinuous color and spectacularly contrasted white space.  The blank interior shape appears as a physical cut-out or interruption of the biomorphic mass; its stark opacity reaching up to and connecting with the open negative space.  While I don’t see an abstract bird per see, there is a winged characteristic in the intricate interior shape.  The Thief of Dreams also resonates with me with its clean white ground.  It may be the negative space becomes more critical in creating a visual rest from the viscerally charged contours of the resin.  The small angular red shapes overlaying the organic mass here function as a calculated foil to the seemingly less controlled smoky grey under layer.
