Curator’s Comments:

I am fond of the vivid exuberance throughout your work- particularly the object-oriented cut paper constructions.  Antlia offers a physical structure akin to the constellation, but these works move beyond didactic renderings of identifiable stars. I do feel the works need adequate room to breathe, as there’s vibrancy not only to the intense hues, but to the outwardly thrusting diagonal lines.  The small black and white dashed line around the starburst cluster on the left side is a wonderful foil to the more erratic painted edge up on the top right.  The off-kilter blue diagonals shift the visual alignment enough to hold me in the center.  I also really enjoy South of Plancius because of the taut lines pulling me between the circular formations. These collages remind me of musical compositions in the staccato repetition of line and color, periodically broken by a punctuated divergent shape or contrasted texture.
