The use of Acryl-Gouache is new for me and the tubes are small, limiting the size of the work. I greatly appreciate you comments.

Curator’s Comments:
These acrylic and gouache paintings are quite enticing. I’m particularly attracted to this piece, (Echtx11) with the lower chroma analogous hues. The muted pinkish center is artfully contrasted against the primary blue shapes, and offers swift visual movement. The frequent repetition of the olive shapes hold the work together compositionally. I also appreciate the textural variation within the divided segments, which add organic nuance to the sharper edges. I was surprised to see the relatively small scale noted of the original work. The gestures within the painting are bold and sweeping, and so I pictured it on a much larger scale. Similarly, the more brightly colored painting with deeper pink in the center (Guo1) has a fluid, but puzzle like compartmentalization. These works are reminiscent of the lyrical marks of post painterly abstraction, but with a sensibility that is more akin to paper collage than clean edged paint.
