“Eggs in the Round” is a beautiful circular acrylic painting that is extremely dimensional. The eggs look like they jump off the plate from the flat surface.

It’s interesting to me how this natural and organic subject matter can appear so streamlined and mechanical when composed within a high contrast arrangement.  The aerial view of the eggs accentuates the graphic design of the piece, and provides crisp edges and shadows. For me the pink flowers in the border of the dish keep the image from appearing achromatic; and then bring me to the more subtle hues within the interior space.  I’m curious if the actual painting is circular, and the black background is just a flat backdrop, or if the picture itself is composed of a rectangular shape.  I’ve admired your other Pop oriented works in the past, and just realized this painting stands apart because of the domestic environment of the food. The other shrink wrapped and packaged items are still contextualized as consumer items-albeit perfect and ready to devour.
