Ego; best just stay home today appeared on the site today, and I’m charmed by the flow of various commonplace objects that attribute to contemporary trials and ennui. The map-like organization of the dotted paths navigating the small figures is paradoxically whimsical and confused.  While the openness of white ground prevents chaotic or frenetic movement in the piece, the viewer is left slightly ungrounded in the space, and is ultimately directed ‘out’ to the bottom of the composition. Presented on a decidedly human scale, the piece is neither intimate nor projecting in a billboard manner.  The scale is perfect for contemplation of personal direction. Several of the other drawings on drywall panel similarly balance the push and bull between animated symbols and empty space.  Urban free time is perfectly adept is presenting a modern day sardonic state within an elegant aesthetic.
