Curator Comment:

The stratified layers in this piece work quite well- the black lineation towards the center area is especially compelling, as it grounds the swimming biomorphic shapes around it.  The cut paper edges play against the modeled background, with small meticulous markings.  It seems to have a macrocosm/ microcosm relationship.  Looking longer, an eye emerges in the center.  But the inky black lineation (pod like shape?) oddly enough remains the most diaphanous. It allows the space to move in and out, carrying the most visual flux.  It may also be the most compelling because of its opacity- something solid in a field of sheer color and edges.
