Curator’s Comments:

Kailua Vista is a small piece that achieves a magnificent space.  The red roofed building in the foreground sets up engaging atmospheric perspective, leading the viewer up through lush and dense green hills.  The deeper violet peak, (I imagine the scene on the edge of the Bay due to the title), appears to dissolve into a misty tinted sky. I appreciate the section of open white space on the right side of the composition, supporting the asymmetrical placement of the architecture, and allowing for visual rest. The strong diagonal throughout the landscape lends a dramatic panorama, while also achieving a calming state of serenity.
