I’m incredibly taken in by your whole series of assemblages you’ve posted on the site.  They have a mechanistic quality that suggests kinetic movement or animation, while also enjoying pieced canvases of painterly realism.  The titles are equally whimsical and odd.  Kinda Hot in These Rhinos beautifully exemplifies your approach to “smash together” ideas about somewhat disparate elements in the natural world.  The mind naturally wants to make conceptual associations between the formal juxtapositions.  We are easily seduced into the space with high chroma primary color and graphic components, and are then confronted by a raucous clash of angled wood and steel.  The repeated red bars/spokes within this particular sculpture suggest amplification of sound traveling across the piece. We visually move down towards the expansion, to a false opening on the left.  The overall shape conjures an instrument of sorts; the struggle to identify the invented forms is part of the tease.  The visual play continues as one puts together pieces of human faces and figures which shift in orientation and scale. While connections can’t readily be found within the bonds, it’s a pleasure to be along for the ride.
