thank you, Kristen. As always you are very much appreciated. Geo has a metallic car paint finish over aluminum rectangles and flat planes.the rectangles have stainless steel rods connected to small aluminum cylinders not painted. sparrows is a whimsical approach to feeding birds on grass, hence the green stone base. thank you again for your comments, as always a very intelligent review.

Thank you for alerting me you have new work posted on the site- I enjoy seeing the evolution of these forms.  Geo (4) has a beautiful (anodized?) surface, that’s not quite reflective but nonetheless offers a clean metallic finish.  I like the white base, as it suspends the form, and gives the impression the visual weight of the sculpture is temporarily suspended.  The triangular trajectory of the piece strongly connects it visually to your other recent works, but there’s more of an element of random cascade of the flat planes.  Sparrows (1) feels slightly humorous.  Rather than emphasizing the sensation of flight, as I would expect in your artistic practice, the arrangement suggests the scattering of the small birds on the ground.  Their metal “feet” splay outward, countering and reinforcing the angles of their pointed beak fronts.  The green stone base may suggest grass- but I’m wondering if my reading of the work is too obvious and literal?  Without the title directing me to these representations I would still appreciate the cluster of animated characters.
