Animal Party is a curious image, with uniquely drawn animal characters and a surprising inclusion of the devil!  I find it funny that the devil is depicted on the same scale as the other figures, and doesn’t command more visual attention in the space. The amusing personification of the animals initially presents as a sort of fable, but the specific narrative remains unclear to me. Since the notation that accompanies the work identifies it as an illustration, I also assume the artwork was created in the service of a familiar tale. But regardless of the inspiration, I enjoy the scrawling gestural lines throughout the work, and the inclusion of saturated colors that appear to glaze over the thinner dark contours.  Loosely sketched lines fill in the ground and surrounding environment, and offer the viewer an indistinct stage for the peculiar scene.  While some objects are unidentifiable, I’m attracted to the movement and style. I see that this drawing was created a number of years ago, and there are no other clues as to your intention when I look though works posted.  Please consider sharing new images if you’re still active on the site.
