Hi Jason and anyone interested. Oilbar is also known as 'oil on a stick'. The 'Oilbar’ is a Daler Rowney product and the 'Oil on a Stick' a Winsor and Newton product. Both are as good except that the W & N are slightly larger, although the D/R do a larger version as well. They are basically a bit like oil pastels but are more versatile and dry like oil paints. They are great for blending and you can do that either with your fingers (a bit messy) or with stumpy brushes or even a cloth. I think it is a brill medium. I’ve done some on-line videos specialising in them. They are on a smashing art site with lots of demonstrations and tutorials. You can access it by clicking on the following link and then navigate to my name in the artists heading.

 Hope that helps. GAVIN
