Artists2artists Social Network

Brought to you by ArtDeadline.Com

Hello all,
This is my first foray into this type of on-line connection. In fact, I have several images already on the site, but until now have not been able to say hi.
Check out my work (also on my website www.steven-d-albert-art.com). I've been making and showing my paintings for many years. The one thing that has been lacking in that time has been other eyes and minds to give me some input on the work. So please, send me your thoughts when you have a moment.
I'm very excited about this site and the potential for artists connnections above and beyond the gallery world.
til the next

Steven - I just noticed that you responded to my previous - I'm new to this format/forum too and I don't know what to expect from it, so I apologize for not responding sooner - The "No Secrets" painting is 25 x31 one of the larger paintings i've done - I think 36 by 36 is the largest. I have a friend who does well with very large canvases (4 feet by 8 feet, for example) but I prefer to make something someone can put in their house - regular sized house. Also, that no secrets painting is responsible for me throwing out all of my out of date meds (OTC) and cleaning out the cabinet itself.

Hi Paul,
Thanks much for the invite to be a friend. I enjoyed seeing your work as well. Good realist work is not easy to find these days, and I like the fact that you've been able to grasp a range of subjects, from nudes to industrial buildings to trees. My dealers are very reluctant for me to branch out into various subjects, so I applaud those that can. I enjoy "No Secrets" very much. How big is this picture?
My pictures are indeed very controlled (although I feel that they are still to messy). That control comes simply from the fact that they take forever to do and I go over them several times. I go back and forth with "loose" and "tighter" in my mind as well. I may have the opportunity to play with some looser application with a new body of work that I'll be starting soon.
Looking forward to more discussions
Steven

Steven - Your paintings are terrific! I am happy to see some one else using the sharp - real with edges as I like to use in my paintings. I love the edge - but yours exhibit so much more control. I also must confess that I am toying with the idea of going looser - within the "real" just to see what the reaction might be. Welcome to A2A.
