Hi Ryan,
Love the vibrant color and "organic" feel of your paintings.
If I may, may I ask you a question? I was just reading your comment in Take it to the Next Level, and can totally relate to the "too busy" problem, I only wish that I could say it was because of gallery showings like yourself. You see for the past 12 years I've been a stay at home mom homeschooling my kids and being a chauffeur. Now both my kids are going off to school this year and while never said, I know my husband would like it if I were to get a job to contribute to the household finances. Not to tell you my whole life story, but now that I'm "free" so to speak, I would really like to devote myself wholeheartedly to my artwork (I'm really getting into my sculpture!), but unless I can demonstrate that with my art I can "contribute" I know in a very short time, I'm going to start hearing rumblings about getting a "real" job.
My thoughts have been that the best way to get my work out there is to take part in as many competitions as possible, and send my photos and resume to the various galleries that are looking for submissions listed in Artdeadline.com. What do you think?
I have been lucky enough to get my work picked up by one of the local galleries in my area, the only problem is, is that they are more of a gallery/craft store that also exhibits jewelry, pottery, and handmade clothes etc..., so not really a gallery, gallery, if you know what I mean.
Anyway, speaking of being busy, but if you've got a minute, could you please give me your thoughts or ideas of how you went about getting yourself out there.
Thanks so much Ryan, I really do appreciate it.
