Curator’s Comments:

The consistently smooth value gradations and organic undulations in Corona give the piece a sense of amoebic evolution or development. While there is a hierarchy of form and shape, the compositional elements appear to fold and roll back over onto themselves, in a swimming sea of vibrant color.  I also enjoy the visual interplay between opacity and semi-transparency of these globular forms; there’s the appearance of thin membranes as physical boundaries.   I also find it interesting that when the overall color palette includes more black and white, the subject appears more metallic and hard edged, such as in the two pieces entitled Carina or Aquila.  I’m curious about your stated technical process, and imagine these works are even more luminous in person when printed on Plexiglas.  Or perhaps the choice of substrate was selected to mimic the actual back illumination of digital media experienced in the works creation.
