Curator’s Comments:

I’m taken in by the almost kaleidoscopic movement in the piece Still Feel the Rain.  The slightly hazy image, or distortion aligns with the concept of altered senses in the title; some are dulled, while other sensory experiences heightened. At first glance the picture seems to contain a myriad of rainbow hues, but on closer inspection there is a visual dominance of blue, red and green on the periphery of white halos.  The color and value hierarchy helps to organize the active movement in the composition, while having the effect of filtered light. It looks as though there are light human faces embedded in the image- particularly in the lower right corner.  I wonder whether these ghosts are intentionally left vestiges of previous incarnations or accidents of organic form.
