Curator’s Comments:
When Small Imaginings appeared on the site today I didn’t immediately recognize it among your other colorful abstractions. The larger proportion of negative space/background counters the visual activity in the brightly colored configurations, setting the shapes up against a spatial field. In this context they read as dimensional objects. I enjoy the way they relate to each other- floating in a tight triad, and sharing hues, they also share value patterns. While the scale of the actual work isn’t indicated, the forms do seem small- perhaps this is also influenced by the title. I also appreciate the restraint in space and color in the context of the other vibrant works. It’s nice to see a full exploration of form and pattern within a body of work. The ‘imaginings ‘create a language of their own.
From NY to the U.K., the most comprehensive and respected source for income & exhibition opportunities.
