Curator’s Comments:

Bridget is an intriguing image from both a formal and psychological perspective.  The reflection and duplicity of the figure naturally conjures questions about personal identity and body image.  This is further reinforced as the subject stands at the entrance of a clothes closet.  The silvery reflective quality of the print (or digital image, as the case may be) includes distortion evidenced in your other pinhole imagery. But far from outside the realm of natural possibility, the only extreme abstraction here occurs in her lower limbs. I’m struck by the confidence projected in the mirrored reflection, and the less assured or slightly self-conscious ‘true self’.  The angled right arm also isn’t captured in the mirror, as so there’s the visual ambiguity of what’s in the viewers’ line of sight.  I recognize this piece was posted some years back, and would love to see if you’ve continued with this process and approach.
