Thanks Julie, this is done with light washes and then drybrush is used to create tonality and texture.

there are such incredible stories in all your subject matter, tender & austere, bodies/faces etched with living a hard, humble, dignified life.  i was surprised to see this particular work was done in watercolour.  your renderings are superb, very moving.
