Bay Bridge and Embarcadero is a mesmerizing and truly hypnotic image.  Looking at the other works in your folio, I recognized I’d admired some of the other pieces before that combine organic figuration with tiny repeated pattern.  But this work shows only a trace of a photograph structure if in fact it utilizes a similar image building process.   The underlying picture is almost completely obliterated by the dazzling diamond pattern but serves to provide a visual foil to the stability of the geometric designs.  This piece and the adjacent entitled Rear Window dexterously play with expectations of digital pixilation versus hand worked analog painting as a mode of expression.   The incredible facility in working with a densely packed and layered picture plane holds my interest while never allowing my eyes to rest.
