Curator’s Comments:

The strong bilateral symmetry of this composition offers a maximal aesthetic compared to the rather minimalist pieces I commented on a couple of years ago.  Returning to your portfolio now, I’m attracted to the tinted areas of the compositions that read as focused light.  This image in particular has an interesting organic sensibility and centralized column of luminous color. The organization of the green, ochre and red-violet hues against a saturated cobalt ground is quite striking.  The dominance of blue suggests an aquatic entity, or living organization breaking open to reveal transformation.  I find it interesting that figuration- at least in fully human form, is absent in most of your works, and yet there is an intuited presence of human psyche or spirituality.  I wonder if this is because your personal icon/profile picture depicts a seated figure of light.
