DESCRIPTION:National Deadline: March 13, 2015 - The Art House is now a
 ccepting submissions for 'Art by America', a national review of 2-dime
 nsional art. This exhibition will feature 250 artists residing in Amer
 ica and working in the two-dimensional mediums of painting, drawing, p
 rintmaking and/or mixed media.\nThis annual exhibition is a collaborat
 ive effort between the practicing artists of The Art House and Arts on
  Elston and the field of Art History and Criticism to gather a wide ra
 nge of submissions in order to determine the two-dimensional contempor
 ary visual art trends and traditions across America.  AWARDS The Juror
 ’s Award, $1,000 The Art House Award $500 Best in Show, $500 Honorab
 le Mention, $250  VENUE - Exhibition Dates: June 1-30, 2015 Selected a
 rtist will participate in a curated, month-long, on-site exhibition th
 at spans two Chicago galleries.  JURY The jury for this prestigious, f
 irst annual project is James Yood and Ginny Voedisch. The exhibition f
 eaturing 250 artists will be curated by Rebecca George, Founder/Direct
 or of The Art House and Faculty at The School of the Art Institute of 
 Chicago and Arthur Connor, Owner/Director of Arts on Elston gallery.  
 ELIGIBILITY For submission to project, consideration of top cash prize
 s and awards, art must be original, and fall into one of the following
  material categories: painting, drawing, printmaking or mixed media.\n
 All entrants meeting the eligibility criteria will be considered for e
 xhibition. 250 artists will be accepted and exhibited and be eligible 
 for awards and prizes. Only two dimensional media will be considered f
 or the 250 displayed works for the on-site, month- long exhibition, in
 cluding painting, printmaking, drawing, pastel and mixed media. Sculpt
 ure, photography, and digital art are not eligible.\nWork considered f
 or on-site exhibition may not be exceed 20” in height or width, and 
 4” in thickness, including frame. Work cannot be accepted from non-U
 .S. addresses.  PRESENTATION Work selected for exhibition must be suit
 ably framed and ready for hanging by the submitting artist. Drawings, 
 prints, watercolors and pastels must be under Plexiglass. (Glass is no
 t permissible.)  FEES $49 entry fee allows each artist to submit 1-2 i
 mages, a resume and artist’s statement.  SALES All work will be for 
 sale unless the artist informs the gallery to the contrary. All procee
 ds from sales will go to the artist.  SUBMISSION Visit the Art House w

 ry effort to notify all applicants of juror’s decision by April 5, 2
 015.  RECEIVING Shipped work must be postmarked and mailed by April 20
 , 2015 in a sturdy, reusable container.  LIABILITY All possible care w
 ill be taken with the all the art work, but The Art House nor any of i
 ts affiliates/partners will be responsible for any loss or damage to t
 he work while in transit to or from or on display in the gallery. Trav
