Art We Use: National Exhibition of Objects

National Deadline: April 21, 2014 - The Dairy Barn Arts Center is excited to announce "Art We Use", a new national juried exhibition of objects, with a broad base of media - works in wood, clay, metal, glass, paper, fiber - from tools to teapots, from bowls and boats to baskets, from ladders to lounge chairs. Hurray for the beautiful, strong, funny, surprising and unique objects that we use and love!

AWARDS
There will be over $10,000 in awards available for works including:

• Best of Show - $2,500
• 3 Juror’s Awards @ $1,500. each
• Best Use of Materials
• Best Environmental Statement
• Emerging Artist Under 30 Years
• Eminent Artist Over 70 Years

CATALOG

There will be an on-line catalog published by The Dairy Barn Arts Center for this exhibition.

JURORS
The jury panel is comprised of three people. These judges will select works based on originality and innovation, design, technique, craftsmanship and use of materials. Acceptance will be granted on the basis of submitted digital images.

ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS

• Material
  Innovative use of material is encouraged. Work may be created in any media, inclusive of, but not limited to, metal, wood, glass, plastic, duct tape, paper, fiber, polymer, recycled material, stone, rubber, natural material, electronics, and more.
• Authorship
  All works eligible for consideration must be original and of independent or collabortive effort. Artists must be 18 years or older.
• Date Of Work
  Entries must have been made within the past 5 years, and not been previously shown at The Dairy Barn Arts Center.

June20, 2014: Exhibition Opening Reception & Awards Presentation
September 1, 2014: Exhibition closes at The Dairy Barn Arts Center
October 1, 2014: Artwork returned to artists
