DESCRIPTION:National Deadline: May 19, 2014, June 2, 2014 - The Brookl
 yn Waterfront Artists Coalition (BWAC) invites artists from all over t
 he USA for a juried exhibit, “Color,” in our gallery - an 8,000 sf
  Civil War-era warehouse on the Red Hook waterfront. With its trendy r
 estaurants, bars, boutiques and billion dollar view of the Statue of L
 iberty and New York Harbor, it’s an exciting place to visit and exhi
 bit. The enormous space of the gallery affords us the opportunity to e
 xhibit really huge work, and we welcome it.\nOpen to all US residents 
 18 years or older working in all traditional and non-traditional 2D an
 d 3D media, including film/video when part of an installation. All art
 work must be original in concept, design and execution.\nJUROR: Lauren
  Hinkson, Assistant Curator at Solomon Guggenheim Museum\nWe are fortu
 nate to be joined by a prestigious juror – Lauren Hinkson, Assistant
  Curator at Solomon Guggenheim Museum. With her experience, expect an 
 exceptionally exciting exhibition!\nLauren Hinkson conducts permanent 
 collection research with a focus on contemporary and time-based art. S
 he also works closely with the museum’s acquisition committees and o
 rganizes presentations of works from the Guggenheim collection for ven
 ues worldwide. In addition to her research work, she has curated Il Gu
 ggenheim: l'Avanguardia americana, 1945–1980 at the Palazzo delle Es
 posizioni in Rome and Lasting Images at the Guggenheim Museum in New Y
 ork. Hinkson has also cocurated several collections-based exhibitions 
 at the Guggenheim Museum in New York including Now’s the Time: Recen
 t Acquisitions; Surface, Support, Process: The 1960s Monochrome in the
  Guggenheim Collection; Pop Objects and Icons from the Guggenheim Coll
 ection and Paired, Gold: Felix Gonzalez-Torres and Roni Horn. Prior to
  joining the Guggenheim in 2008, she worked in the Department of Print
 s and Illustrated Books at the Museum of Modern Art, New York.\nAWARDS
