 arie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center, in association with the Smithsoni
 an Institution, announces a call for artists for \"Cosmos: imagining t
 he universe\", a national juried exhibition on display February 13 - J
 uly 26, 2015, at the spacious Mezzanine Gallery of Annmarie’s award-
 winning Murray Arts Building.\nThe exhibition is open to artists age 1
 8 and older working in the U.S. All media welcome; small to large-scal
 e installations; new media encouraged; cash awards.\nThis exhibit invi
 tes artists to envision the mysteries of the universe, both scientific
  and fantastical, theoretical and fictional, real and imagined. How do
  artists render the work of scientists, authors, explorers, astronomer
 s, cartoonists, Trekkies, LARPers, astrologers, and philosophers? This
  exhibit embraces not only what science has revealed about space, but 
 what humans have imagined about the cosmos. From the results of scient
 ific inquiry to the creative minds of science fiction authors and fans
 , this exhibit celebrates how space has stimulated human understanding
  and creativity. From the big bang theory to worm holes and warp speed
 , artists are invited to submit works that bring to life what we know 
 of space and what we imagine. The goal is to assemble a vibrant and di
 verse selection of works that speak to our fascination with the cosmos
 .CASH AWARDS Annmarie will present cash awards to outstanding work. Ju
 ror(s) will review installed works (not application images) for award 
 selection. Typically there are at least three awards.THE EXHIBITION SP
 ACE 3300 sq.ft exhibition space; accommodates floor, wall and ceiling 
 mounts; electricity available; Internet access; delivery door dimensio
 ns 8’ x 8’; lifting capabilities, including an elevator and 2-ton 
 Max. pulley system; centralized 24-hour temperature and humidity contr
 ols; building-wide securityJURY & SELECTION PROCESS The exhibit will b
 e juried by a 1-2 member panel; typically, one member of the panel is 
 drawn from the Smithsonian Institution. Artists will be selected based
  on skill, technique, and originality. The deadline to apply is Decemb
 er 5, 2014. Artists will be notified of final acceptance status via em
 ail on or before December 15, 2014.ENTRY FEE Artists must submit a $25
  non-refundable entry fee ($20 for Annmarie members) for up to 4 entri
 es.SALE OF WORKS Works selected for exhibition cannot be removed befor
 e the end of the exhibition. Should a sale resulting from the exhibiti
 on occur, Annmarie will retain a 40% commission of the listed sale pri
