SUMMARY:3rd Annual Icons of the West
DESCRIPTION:National Deadline: March 24, 2014 - Artists working in all
  media are encouraged to submit work to the third annual Icons of the 
 West, a juried exhibition to be held at the Dana Gallery in Missoula, 
 Montana during May and June 2014. All works must be completed within t
 he last two years with preference for works created especially for thi
 s show.\nWork must not exceed 40 inches in any direction and works on 
 paper must be behind glass. Non-traditional and new-media works (film,
  installation, etc.) will be scrutinized on a case-by-case basis.  CAT
 EGORIES & AWARDS There is a $2500 Cash Award for Best of Show. Additio
 nally, to encourage artistic exploration, there will be a $1000 award 
 for Most Original Interpretation of the Theme. There will also be a $5
 00 Cash award given for Best in the following categories:\n\nBest Trad
 itional Western\nBest Figurative\nBest Landscape\nBest Critter\nBest C
 ontemporary\nother awards pending\n\nENTRY FEE The entry fee is $35.  
 ENTRY PROCEDURE Up to five images may be submitted for entry, includin
 g a maximum of three works and two details, to be labeled as follows:\
 nLASTNAME.TITLE.MEDIUM.DIMENSIONS (for details include dt#1,2,etc.,).\
 nFiles can be jpeg or tif and should be 4x6 at 300 dpi. Accepted works
  that do not accurately reflect the submitted images will not be exhib
 ited.\nTo enter send e-mail to iconsofthewest@danagallery.com with the
  completed application [pdf] and images attached, subject line reading
 : Icons 2014 Application. If you prefer you may mail the application t
 o Dana Gallery (images on a CD) along with the $35 check. If applying 
 by e-mail please include credit card information or you may also send 
 a check or pay over the phone.\nPlease attach a description along with
  your application if accommodations need to be made for installation/p
 resentation of such work.\nAn independent jury will review the submiss
 ions.  NOTIFICATION Accepted artists will receive a letter outlining t
 he exhibition, delivery dates and gallery contract. Artists are respon
 sible for the cost of shipping work back.  SALES All works must be for
  sale. The Dana Gallery will retain a 50% commission on each sale.\nTo
  enhance marketing opportunities during the summer season, the gallery
  retains the right for work to remain with the gallery and for sale un
 til August 15, 2014.  CALENDAR - Deadline is March 24th. - All applica
 nts will be notified regarding acceptance no later than March 31st. -
