 the American Alliance of Museums, MoCP is a renowned photography speci
 fic institution whose mission is to generate ideas and provoke dialogu
 e through groundbreaking exhibitions, innovative programs, and experie
 ntial events to cultivate a deeper understanding of the artistic, cult
 ural, and political roles of photography in our world today.\r\nFounde
 d in 1976 by Columbia College Chicago as the successor to the Chicago 
 Center for Contemporary Photography, the Museum of Contemporary Photog
 raphy began collecting in 1979 and has since grown its collection to i
 nclude nearly 18,000 artworks by 2,000 artists.\r\nPortfolio Submissio
 nsThe Museum of Contemporary Photography accepts submissions of portfo
 lios to be considered for exhibition, programming, and collection acqu
