ViewPoints 2015 International Exhibition

International Deadline: January 24, 2015 - Studio Montclair seeks entries for the 18th Annual Open Juried Exhibition “ViewPoints 2015” at aljira, a Center for Contemporary Art in the heart of Newark, New Jersey’s arts district from June 4 thru 30, 2015. Open to fine artists worldwide, all media accepted including videos and installations.

JUROR
Jeffrey Wechsler, Senior Curator at the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum, Rutgers University from 1978 to 2012. At the Zimmerli, Mr. Wechsler organized many significant exhibitions focused on lesser-known aspects of 20th century art such as Surrealism and American Art, 1931-1947, Abstract Expressionism: Other Dimensions and Asian Traditions / Modern Expressions: Asian American Artists and Abstraction, 1945-1970. Author of over 50 essays for museums and galleries, lecturer, advisor to the National Endowment for the Arts, Mr. Wechsler is now the curator for the Sylvia Wald and Po Kim Art Gallery in New York City.

aljira, a Center for Contemporary Art, co-sponsor of ‘ViewPoints 2015,’ is known throughout the region for excellence in the visual arts through its exhibitions and educational programs.

CASH AWARDS
Minimum of $1,350 total cash awards.

SALES
A 30% donation will be retained by SMI on all sales. Works not for sale should be listed NFS and include an insurance value

Studio Montclair and aljira reserve the right to photograph and use accepted work for documentation, website, publicity, or catalogue purposes.

• Opening Reception and Cash Awards: Saturday, June 6, 2015 from 6-9pm
• Delivery of Artwork by Hand: Friday, May 29, 2015 from 10:30am to 4pm & Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 11am to 4pm.
• Delivery of Artwork by Shipping: Tuesday, May 26, 2015 thru Saturday, May 30, 2015.
• Pickup of unsold artwork: Friday, July 10, 2015 from 10:30am to 4pm & Saturday, July 11, 2015 from 11am to 4pm.
