New Works of Merit Playwriting Contest

International Deadline: June 30, 2016 – New Works of Merit Playwriting Contest is an international contest that bring works of social significance to the attention of producers and artistic directors, works that might not otherwise have the opportunity to be presented.

Now in its 14th year, New Works of Merit Playwriting Contest is accepting scripts through June 30, 2016.

AWARD
$300 plus a professional reading and Q&A.

ELIGIBLE SCRIPTS
Plays submitted must be the original work of the author:

• Full-lengths, no longer than 2 hours or 100 pages Stage Play Format
• One-acts
• Short stage plays
• Children’s plays
• Published scripts
• Scripts that received a workshop
• Scripts that received a staged reading
• Scripts that received a non-union production
• Scripts produced with an AEA Showcase Code or Plan

JUDGES
June Rachelson-Ospa is a Playwright, Lyricist, Book Writer and Broadway Producer.

Sandra Nordgren is a Literary Manager, Playwright, Dramaturg, Artistic Director, Producer, and Founder of New Works of Merit Playwriting Contest.

Stephanie Nathan is a Copy Editor, Writer, Linguist, Historian, Language Teacher, and Performing Artist.
