  is proud to announce the recipients of the 2012 Lillian Orlowsky and 
 William Freed Foundation Grant.\nCongratulations to Irene Lipton of No
 rth Truro, MA; Catherine Kehoe of Roslindale, MA; Maria Napolitano of 
 Providence, RI; and Reiner Hansen of Brooklyn, NY. Recipients were awa
 rded $8,000 and an exhibition in September 2013 at the Provincetown Ar
 t Association and Museum.\nGrants are offered to American painters age
 d 45 or older who demonstrate financial need. The primary emphasis is 
 to promote public awareness and a commitment to American art, as well 
 as encouraging interest in artists who lack adequate recognition. A to
 tal of $30,000 is awarded annually.\nThe jurors for this year’s awar
 d were Melissa Meyer, a painter whose work is represented in the perma
 nent collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Moder
 n Art, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, amongst others; Katy Klin
 e, Interim Director of the Williams College Museum of Art; and Richard
  Baker, a former Provincetown resident and painter who received a Poll
 ock Krasner Award and is represented in the permanent collection at th
