DESCRIPTION:International Deadline: December 21, 2015 – PH21 Gallery
  invites photographers to submit their work for a group exhibition the
 med Body 2016.We are looking for submissions from all photographers wh
 o are interested in this most intriguing subject, and who would like t
 o share their work with a wider international audience through the exp
 osure of PH21 Gallery. The theme is broadly construed; the human body 
 may be portrayed in various genres. Indeed, we are interested in all p
 ossible creative photographic interpretations of the theme.The human b
 ody has been the central subject of various photographic genres. From 
 documentary, event and street photography to fashion photography and t
 he nude, photographers have always found ways of constructing images i
 n which the specific portrayal of the human body gains significance. T
 hat significance may stem from the rich layers of meanings emerging fr
 om specific socio-cultural contexts, the visual interaction of the hum
 an body with the surrounding physical space, or the intriguing composi
 tional possibilities offered by the body itself. When focussing on the
  body, some photographers explore movements, study expressive gestures
  and postures, or concentrate on the beauty and details of the human a
 natomy. Some narrate whole life stories through the depiction of the h
 uman body. Others may offer stern visual criticism of our normative co
 nceptions of the human body and its mainstream representation in Weste
 rn media.Exhibition will be on display January 21, 2016 – February 9
 , 2016JUROR: Zsolt BátoriZsolt Bátori is a philosopher of art and ph
 otographer, living in Budapest. He has taught philosophy of art and ph
 otography theory courses at various universities in the United States 
 and Hungary, and has exhibited his photographic work internationally. 
 Zsolt is also the founder and director of PH21 Gallery.AWARD & BENEFIT
 SOne juror’s choice and up to three honourable mentions will be sele
 cted and announced. (Occasionally we also give out an associate’s ch
 oice award.) The juror’s choice receives three free entries for any 
 upcoming themed group exhibition calls at PH21 Gallery. (Each free ent
 ry includes up to 15 images.) The webpage and the print catalogue of t
 he exhibition will include a juror’s review; it provides a detailed 
 review of the juror’s choice, shorter evaluations of the honourable 
 mentions, and a one-sentence highlight of some of the other photograph
 s included in the exhibition.ENTRY FEEYou may submit 3, 5, 7, 10, or 1
 5 images; these may be all individual works, or they may also include 
 a series of maximum 5 photographs. The entry fee is €15.00 for the f
 irst 3 images, €20.00 for 5 images, €25.00 for 7 images, €30.00 
 for 10 images, and €35.00 for 15 images.There is a special rate for 
 maximum 5 images for students and unwaged persons as well as for appli
 cants from low-income economies. The special fee is €8.00.SUBMISSION
