SUMMARY:The Source-Cord Prize
DESCRIPTION:International Deadline: July 13, 2014 - The Source-Cord Pr
 ize is an award for contemporary photography, comprising an individual
  first prize of $10,000, second prize of $1,000 and third prize of $50
 0. The work selected for first prize will also be published in Source 
 Magazine with a commissioned essay. Additionally, twenty-two artists w
 ill be selected for online exhibition and everyone submitting will rec
 eive a free one-year digital subscription to Source Magazine. The winn
 ers will be selected by an international panel of four judges.\nThe aw
 ard was established as the Cord Prize in 2013 by EA Lindsay, to suppor
 t contemporary photography. In 2014 Lindsay formed a collaboration wit
 h Source magazine to create the Source-Cord Prize. Source is a photogr
 aphy magazine based and published in the UK since 1992. The judges in 
 2013 were Charlotte Cotton and Diana Edkins, the first Prize was won b
 y Eva Stenram for her work Drape.JUDGES\n\nKate Bush is a leading art 
 curator and critic, specializing in international art and photography.
 \nStefanie Grebe is a freelance lecturer, photographer and curator. Sh
 e is a visiting curator at the Ruhr Museum.\nJohn Duncan has been one 
 of the editors of Source since 1994.\nMariko Takeuchi, Japan, is a pho
 tography critic, an independent curator and associate professor of Kyo
 to University of Art and Design.\n\nHOW TO ENTERVisit the Source-Cord 
 Prize Online. You will be taken to your upload page where you can subm
 it and edit your entry. Artists can submit up to 16 images from a body
  of work, which does not have to be a single project. We also require 
 a short introductory text. See below for more information on the submi
 ssion process.WHAT TO SUBMITThe aim of the Source-Cord Prize is to dis
 cover new work. All photographic processes are welcome and submissions
  are invited from artists for whom photography is their whole or parti
 al practice.\nApplications should be accompanied by a short text of up
  to 400 words introducing the work you are submitting. This text must 
 be in English (the common language for the judges) but please note, we
  wish to encourage submissions from photographers for whom English is 
 not their first language. The text is to help the judges, it will not 
 be judged for the quality of its written English.NOTIFICATION\n\nThe j
 udges will consider the work in August, meeting in person to discuss t
 he final shortlist and prize winners in September.\nAwarded artists wi
 ll be contacted by email in September.\nThe judges’ selections will 
 be announced on the 1st November when a dedicated issue of Source will
