Do I get Brian Statom and Craig (Funky) to Make it up for me or is it a general Resume and Artistic View Point... I have read many Bios... But from the Bussiness side of it ... What looks more profesional? I am a little disturbed by writing about myself in Third Person... Like... I.E.

Oscar is a talented visual artist whose work spans the artist's horizon from ambiguous to the engigmatic. His work is an impication of the modern 21st world in a minimal yet visually stunning array of colors that he uses to reflect mood, tone, philosophy, and emotion.

Third person always sounds a bit detatched emotionally...

Oscar, I see nothing wrong with using Third Person, but I would suggest looking at all the comments (that I know exist) on your work. Pick a couple of good quotes and weave them in.
do you have a friend that can write a rough draft for you and can you follow with editing?
I agree with Elizabeth. For the artist's statement, I've found that, generally, serious artists have their niche and a description of this niche and their approach avoids the egotistical while offering good information. Thus, as Elizabeth said, leaving matters of taste and "rating" to the viewer.
All great Advice... Perhaps I will have a friend write the Bio after I have created the artist statement... I have found it difficult to analyze my own work... But after reviewing my pieces, I have found that understanding what I am creating after the fact, lends clarity to the process and actually fine tunes my own philisophical intent.

However, I may have a certain style or approach to my subjects, but I'm unclear of the Niche. Stylization is one thing, but defining my work in one specific area leaves me feeling pidgeon holed. Nich work for a series I suppose is OK. But I want every series to have its own definition, of approach, mindset, and conclusion.

Please keep the Ideas coming you amazing creative people.. I think this is really helping my understand the conceptualization of the BIO and Artist statement procedure...
Your bio is a narrative version of your artist resume, so it is written in the third person. This way media folks can use it directly in a press release. Your Artists Statement is written in the first person and designed to give readers a personal insight into you, your art and your inspirations.

Thanks you so Much Aletta... You have some great stuff there... Truly valuable info on the whole biz side...
I think Bob the Batchelor owes you a Martini for that one... because he owes me... :)

Seriously though... Thanks...
What do you mean, martini? It's a pint of 'heavy' or nothing. But do go through all of your comments on your work, sometimes what other people may have written can inspire your thoughts and can also be used as quotes.
