New Year New Art------Work in progress!

I am not a full time artist.  In fact I have hardly touched my paints these past few years.  Life gets ahold of you, you blink and before you know it you are trying to find a way back to what you used to love so much.  I remember what some of my biggest issues were when I stopped painting.  My frustration left most paintings unfinished and my lack of time was a great excuse to let the dust build on all my supplies.  NO MORE!  I promised myself this year I would find a way back and I am getting there slowly but surely.  I recently took an art class to help brush up on the basics.  By the end of the class I was fired up and ready to go........but now I am trying to figure what next....Should I continue to work on some of the exercises we did in class?  Work on some of my old paintings?  Work on something new?

I did find something in class that I had forgotten about that I feel is crucial to my growth as an artist......I found fellow artist.  We all shared the similar frustrations, dreams and demands for our time but most importantly the love of creating art.  I  really do hope that this group can come together again like it once did in supporting each other.   If anyone has any ideas or discussions they want to get started please let me know.

Anybody know of exhibition opportunities or galleries seeking artists in the Atlanta area?

I would just like to say that Sloane has done a great job all by herself in organising this group. Maybe at times we all don't get want we want but tough.. You have to make things happen on your own aswell. I have had great responses from artrdeadline.com and have been in quite a few exhibitions already.
Thank you Sloane!

Hi Sloane
I have been swaped this summer with shows . i have gotten into a new gallery which has an opening the first weekend of every month. Also became a member of a new artist group whom are very active. So that's why I 've been silent. I'll participate more when things slow down.

Hey everyone,

I am sorry if you receive one of these from me and one from artist2artist but I am in a bit of a quandary. It seems like since I tried to just let the artist sign up for themselves (not receive any nagging, encouragement, whatever it was that I did) that everything has come to a complete stop. I am not sure if it is because of all the different groups to join or the fact that mac users cannot use windows live or if it is just the facts of life that I have to deal with, you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make them drink. Yahoo has updated some of their group features so technically if we switched over to one group, everything would be there and everyone wouldn't have a problem accessing it. I am just not sure if this is the problem or not. I don't want to not do something so simple as changing a group page with easier access if that is the problem but I am also not sure if this will actually help or if I am just trying to change what cannot be changed. Any of your input into this would be so highly valuable to me. since I don't want to feel like I am abandoning a sinking ship...we were thriving once and now it is almost a ghost town. Any thoughts?

Thanks,Slone

Judith if you are interested in participating in Aletta's Mastermind group that would be great, also you can always do a discussion here on a regular basis if you want ! Just let me know!

Sorry I have been away, between contractors and travels I haven't seen the computer much. thanks for the ideas you guys! I really don't know where to start, I will be working with outdoor paint, I assume and from there I am sorta lost...there is really no light source that hits that particular wall till sunset and the rest of the day it is pretty much in the shadow. I put apicture of the wall under my page...

Sorry I didn't explain it very well....its just walls...they are just some beautiful blank arches that i would love to paint sculptures in (I love sculptures) the arches. Any ideas would be great. The rest of the house I am filling with artwork I create specific for those areas. This is just one of the path ways ( more like a service pathway but I am changing it) that leads to the pools and outside living area.
