This bright, primary-hued painting came up randomly today, but looking through your other works on the site, I see that it’s at home stylistically among your other figurative abstractions. These round-eyed figures enjoy a whimsical energy in proportion and gesture, as well as in their linear staccato progression. The scrawled black masses on the left and top right corner of the composition provide a visual rest from the saturated colors, and also suggest the negation or quieting of particular figures. The heavy black contours also serve to unify the edgy movements they contain. The small dotted shapes along the top provide visual interest, and some narrative mystery as their function appears imagined from a specific source. As with your work overall, I find this piece fresh and energetic, with enough agitation to connect to modern life. I see that it was created quite some time ago, and do hope you consider sharing new work on the site.
