Curator’s Comment:

I admire the glossy perfection in your work, and this image is especially significant as it reveals the reductive process and scale.  The division of the single cell entity calls to mind biological mitosis, or the splitting of atomic particles. I also see the divided sections as referencing primal reproductive or creative forces. There’s purity and elegance to the stripped down economic form.  But I must also say I like the rough surface shown here, and think that could have potential as an alternative surface quality. There’s warmth to the small imperfections that isn’t in the ‘finished’ polished sculptures.

Your drypoints reveal a very different aesthetic, but I recognize the masterful control of the media and approach in these works as well.  The buildup of densely cross hatched lines provides depth to the environment, while the calligraphic lines around the organic forms emphasize fluid movement.  Your Cauldron in Medieval Landscape has a particularly rich use of line and value.  The ground or floor in this space looks like a traditional mezzotint with its soft shadowy blackness.

I like them both ways but the polish is amazing.

This one still needs many hours of work. My intention is that it will be virtually identical to the smaller one in form and finish

Is this one finished or will it be smooth like the other one I saw? Beautiful & sensual.
