Donnie the dung beetle

The scarab is a dung beetle revered in ancient Egypt as sacred, believed to be symbolic of the God Ra pushing the sun over the eastern hemisphere. In reality, it is large bug pushing crap over the land. This painting uses ancient Egypt's fascination with the scarab as a metaphor for America's susceptibility to elect Donald Trump as President.
