Graphite Drawings

Drawing is one of the first steps of the creative process for me . . . I draw everything first -it is my way of getting to know it.

Drawing is a way for me to immerse myself in the subject matter - it is a meditation of sorts. Drawing gives me an opportunity to study and engage the subject matter, offering a unique time for reflection and connection.

When I draw a place or thing in a landscape I strive to convey a visual interpretation of “the sense” or “personality” of the landscape itself.
