Although I have been painting for years, I make my living as a commercial artist and business image consultant. I painted mostly for my own enjoyment as a break from my computer design and production work, but I have sold quite a few paintings over the years. A few years ago, I did a Fish for the Red Cross "Great Northern Fish-In" which was on public display. I had people come up to me and say "I didn't know you could Paint! I thought you just did those phone book ads!" I replied, "I could paint long before there were personal computers... and I know, that dates me!" It feels good to be known for my artwork as well as my graphic work now.
