Unique gelatin silver print on metallic paper and acrylic, 45 x 60 inches.
Photographs of old black and white television movies and shows arrive over the antenna to my television broken up and distorted, old ideologies translated to a contemporary American era. We were oblivious. The broken signals of communication require new thinking. The mores and ideology of American society from post World War II were only a veneer hiding racial, sexual, and social injustice. Now we are pulling off that satin veneer to begin to look at our own thinking where those issues are concerned.
