Blue #4

Part of a series of pieces using the color blue as a unifying visual motif. Completed in 2012 during a period when the artist was focusing on pieces without a traditional focal point. The shapes in this piece were completed organically in response to music that was being performed while the piece was completed. Without a predetermined direction for the pattern to take, the artist was attempting to discover whether the music alone could dictate the form of the pattern, and whether the nature of the shapes would change based on the music it was created to. 11 inches x17 inches, Tombow and Staedtler Water Color Pencils on Water Color Paper. Completed in 2012.
