Rediscovering your painting through a random search on the site, I’m particularly drawn to Burning Sun.  The dynamic space of the reflection within the square format creates an interesting visual tension.  I also respond to the shifts between the jewel toned red-violet, burnt orange and cool blue color palette- there is a haptic immediacy to the environment, along with a captured stillness.  I especially like the textured contrast along the focal point of the space, as the tree line dips down in the center right.  The waterway leads me into the scene, with the expectation of choppy, reflected light.  While the heavily textured surface in the sky keeps the space from receding deeply into the picture plane, the effect is a unified, harmonizing landscape.
