Ceremonial Turkey Vulture Club
Kaolin chert Native American bird effigy, bone, turquoise, red agate, shark’s tooth
There appears to be a bird-like image and a stone handle at the core of this piece that helped create the fearsome, but playful, two-sided Turkey Vulture Club.
On the first side, bone and turquoise represent the eye. The coolest part of this piece occurs when you turn the Club around and view the same image, only from a different perspective. This perspective includes the Turkey Vulture looking over its shoulder to look inquisitively at the viewer.
