Ronnie and Laurie

Ronnie and Laurie were ready. They slipped out of Laurie's convertible and did last minute decorating. Lipstick, stocking adjustment, handbag checklist. It had been a long week. Laurie was fired from her job as a receptionist for a casting director. Ronnie scraped her brother's car while out buying pot. But now it was the weekend. Friday night was a waste. Lots of phone calls and nothing happened. No matter how or what they pleaded, they couldn't get on any guest lists. Then the ultimate insult: being kept out of The Slant Bar because of the jerk working the door. Laurie was really pissed because the ass wipe even let Margo in, that pig came onto Val while Laurie was going out with him. Wound up just sitting by the overpass getting high with Joan and Jody. But Saturday night had definite possibilities. Dirk's band Suction was gigging at Java East. The evening would start there. Darby said there was a party at a bungalow in the hills. The kid who lived there was a bit of a freak but had cool parties. Both agreed on how hot they each looked. They were hoping to run into old boy friends just to make them jealous. Looking and smelling so good, they'd have those guys drooling.
