The human mind treats smaller paintings as if it is looking AT an object or a thing such as a table or chair ,
but larger works are experienced (like installations) as if one is part of them and participate in them.
Now that you know this please do not treat these images as if they
are just more objects or things you look AT,
but experience and participate in them.

Curator’s Comments:

This abstract piece came up randomly on the site, and I was pleased to experience the rich color variations in the painting while contemplating the relationship to Wassily K in the title designation.  I assume the namesake is Wassily Kandinsky, as the image and accompanying text recall Kandinsky’s seminal Concerning the Spiritual in Art.  With the expansive artistic goal to make the invisible visible, the painting has a haptic, almost viscerally undulating surface in the golden yellow and ochre sections.  It opens up spatially in the top portion, as one might view a clear blue sky. However, the overall organic forms don’t definitively evoke a landscape. There also appears to be incised sgriffito in spots, suggesting an inscribed body.  I don’t detect comparable formal properties in the other paintings you’ve shared, but there does seem to be a pouring technique used in the gold piece captioned series 32 no 59.  If you’re still active on the site, I would like to see how your painting practice has continued.
