Total compliment.  maybe "shenanigans' is not the correct word here.  "Insightful Talent" would be better.

Thanks for the complement....I think?!

I'll have to find a way to work 'curatorial shenanigans' into conversation today.

a bit late, but thank you for these lovely words Resident Curator.  MOMA will no doubt discover you and your curatorial shenanigans soon enough.

Curator’s Comments:

Cate Blanchett is the consummate muse for your transformative series- these works perfectly tap into her cult following as the ultimate changeling. However, I believe that while these images obviously appeal to her memorable persona as Queen Elizabeth, the abraded marks successfully reconfigure her with interfering static, and effectively wipe away the original/clean image used in the commercial media production. The positioning of the circular form in front of her face is a study in psychological obscuration.  In front of her mouth the sphere readily silences her; her eyes hidden blind her to the viewer.  There’s also the obvious appropriation of Magritte, and his manifestations of dark dreams and the subconscious.  I think I find the first image- Panel # 5-most intriguing, as it teeters on the edges of paradoxical readings. Her one visible eye holds a steady gaze, though interrupted by the concealment of the other.  I see her parted lips as a subtle effort to communicate through layers of obstruction.  Of course the flame like color and shape of her coiffed hair emulates her curved ruffled collar.  The saturated blue scratches imply a mystical movement of sorts for me, rather than the inevitable scarring of an old weathered photograph.  I think the choice of an antique frame also serves the image well, and functions as an integral part of the overall visual solution.
