Diamond in the Rough
Shell fossil, hematite, black coral, turquoise, azurite / malachite, quartz (diamond cut), Hawaiian shells and broken green agate.
A balding Frenchman with a wee-wee moustache. The goatee shell is from Florida and the nose shell is from Hawaii. The beautiful Brazilian tortoise-green glows when properly back-lighted. The right eye has a white, Hawaiian shell with an azurite/malachite center outlined with hematite and turquoise. The left eye gives this piece its name—I found a large crinoids fossil that had a crater in it, which I then filled with a piece of diamond-cut quartz that actually fit with a little assistance from a bit of silver wire.
